Healthy Food- Quick Style

I am such a hungry girl! Around 10 I started to get hungry again so I decided to have some skim milk to hold me over until lunch. It did an OK job- I ate lunch around 12.

For lunch I used all convenience foods! I didn’t even realize until after I made it. Canned beans, frozen butternut squash and bagged spinach! The meal turned out really well. I used another one of my wraps and added some mashed butter beans (w/ EVOO and some spices), mashed butternut squash, Parmesan cheese, and baby spinach. I also had a red pear on the side. It was a really good lunch, and more relaxing than usual. Sienna is off at my mom’s for the day which means cleaning and cooking for me! I’m going to roast a spaghetti squash and bake some cookies in a bit… it can be difficult to bake when Sienna’s around. She always seems to want to eat within a few minutes of the oven timer going off!

  3. i have a quick question. you mentioned trying to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight. i noticed that you don’t count (or at least list) your calories for meals. do you not count them and just go by how your body feels? i’m sorry to be all calorie-focused (it’s not normally how i am! i usually do a rough estimate of meals and just go w/that) but i love reading blogs and am alway interested in how others keep track of intake (especially when they are trying to drop a few lbs). thanx! ^_^


  4. Ana- I don’t count calories. I have tried and it takes too much time and effort (and I don’t like getting too obsessive)! I just go by how I feel, if I fill up on healthy, filling foods I find my body does a good job at telling me when to eat. I do have a hard time with extra snacking… sometimes I just want to eat for no reason (or emotional reasons) but I am trying to keep that in check! Sometimes I will count out of curiosity sake or if my pants are fitting tighter and not looser! The blog defiantly helps keep me accountable- just looking at what I eat through pics helps a lot!
