A Fresh Start

I’m feeling much better. I had a yummy, nutritious breakfast and I no longer feel guilty. I over ate and I am ready to move on! In the grand scheme of things it really isn’t that big a deal. It was actually very therapeutic to write about it and then share it! I have never done that before and it was kind of liberating! When I decided to start the blog I promised I’d be honest with what I ate since its pretty easy not to mention the things I am not proud of. On a positive note- the cookies were actually pretty healthy! I certainly didn’t need the extra fuel but it could have been worse!

So today for breakfast I made a wrap/burrito with almond butter, mashed banana, a bit of agave nectar and some slivered almonds.

On the side I had some plain non fat yogurt with flax and gogi berries (sorry for the bad picture!).

  1. Hi. I was just wondering, what is agave nectar. Does it have some nutritional benefits, or do you eat it for taste. Ive heard a lot of people using it, but never known what it was. Thanks!

Annie- Agave nectar is similar to honey but a bit thinner. Its much sweeter than regular sugar tsp for tsp. Its about 60 cal a tbsp but its so sweet so you don’t need much! About 1/3 cup is comparable is sweetness to 1 cup of white sugar. I have also read that the glycemic index is lower than most natural sweeteners on the market. I personally really enjoy the taste- its not a pungent as honey. Let me know if you try it!

Kath- you have awesome idea’s as well! Its one of the reasons I love your blog so much!
