Soy!
Today I tried the soy yogurt I bought yesterday and I really liked it ( I bought Nancy’s plain)! It had a lighter taste than cow yogurt… it was sweet and not tart. I topped the yogurt with Ezekiel cereal, a banana, 1/2 tbsp udo oil, drizzle agave nectar (it really didn’t need this… it was already sweet) and cinnamon. It was delicious! I recommend trying soy yogurt even if you still consume dairy… it is actually pretty good! I’m still not sure I’m ready to forgo all dairy all the time but I will be switching to soy yogurt… cheese will be a lot harder to do without!
I had a small blood orange when I woke up (I always wake up starving!).
And of course my soy yogurt concoction.

You seem to know a lot about health food, so hopefully you can help me with this. Bob red mill makes both scottish and steel cut oatmeal. Do you know what the difference is?
And mccann’s makes an instant steel cut- how can there be an instant steel cut?
Sorry, I have a third question, but i noticed you bought chlorine free baby diapers. Bagged lettuce goes through a cholorinated wash, do you think that the cholorinated wash for the lettuce should be avoided? Thanks and sorry for so many questions!
so glad you liked the soy-yogurt!! just take it slow, and you’ll be able to go dairy-free when you’re fully ready :0)

Marcy- I believe steel cut is more coarsely cut than the Scottish oatmeal- both are less processed than rolled oats. I find Scottish to be a bit more creamy where as steel cut is more chewy. Both are great! I
I honestly don’t know how they can make steel cut oats? I have always wondered the same question!
I try to avoid choline in every way- we use natural cleaners as much as we can- including laundry soap. I actually didn’t know about the chlorinated wash and I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I personally would avoid it if possible!

I’ve found that I don’t miss cheese as a vegan! I’ve only tried cheese substitutes twice, ever. There are so many ways to make things creamy and delicious without dairy, to make dishes stand on their own instead of imitating cheese or feeling like you’re “missing” something - almond butter, guacamole, cashews, extra spices… making adding sweet potatoes to a mexican bean burrito instead of cheese… Yum!
