A Googled Dinner

For this dinner I was inspired by some simple ingredients I happened to have on hand- capers, shrimp and scallops, and garlic! I googled those ingredients and found a recipe that I used to loosely base our meal (you can find it here).

I reduced the amount of oil and pasta and just kind of threw stuff together while mildly paying attention the recipe (I still used the same ingredients). I also added in broccoli, scallops and a ¼ cup parmesan cheese. I should mention that I am still learning how to cook and there is still a lot of trial and error but I have to say, this turned out pretty good! Yay me!

Snacks

I was so hungry this afternoon (keep in mind I am breastfeeding!) so I had some plain non fat yogurt with frozen raspberries, 2 kiwis, and a bit of wheat germ.

Then about a few hours later I was hungry again and dinner wasn’t for two hours so I had a cliff bar. So yummy!

I thought I’d post another picture of ms. Sienna from today since she really is the star of the show…

I’ll check back in a bit (when Sienna is sleeping) to answer the comments and post the dessert that I will have had!

oh my gosh, your fruit and yogurt bowl looks SO delicious! and is that your daughter? she is absolutely adorable!

  2. Baby leg warmers- cute!

Frozen yogurt on fruit is a good idea! Do you thaw it on the yogurt as you eat it? or pre thaw it, if so, in what? Sorry to sound naive.

Also, what is wheat germ? Thanks! Your blog is beautiful layout.

  3. I like your blog! I’m just getting into the food blogging world myself, and I’m also looking to start school this summer/fall to become a registered dietitian! Stop by the blog sometime and let me know your thoughts (though it will be under a makeover soon, already). I’m not quite sure anyone is reading it yet! lol!!

  4. Thanks Country! And yes that is my daughter. =)

Meghan- I just throw the berries in the microwave for a few minutes. It takes only like 30 seconds! You can put it on defrost and it will take a bit longer (a minute or two) or just use time cook for a few seconds. You can also take them out the night before, plop in a bowl and leave it in the fridge. The fruit should be deforested by morning!

The technical definition for wheat germ is the embryo of the wheat kernel separated in milling and used especially as a source of vitamins and protein. It is full of nutrients like vitamin E, folate, zinc and magnesium and if high in good fats. It is similar to milled flax seeds.. its just not flax! Its also has a much milder taste and smoother texture. I use Bob Red Mills- http://www.bobsredmill.com.

Chandra- I checked out your bog! I’ll bookmark you. Blogging is defiantly a lot of work but its fun. Yay for going into dietetics!
